Meditation:
It is the most natural thing in the world to be scared, and the clearest evidence that God’s grace is at work in our hearts is when we do not get into panics… The remarkable thing about fearing God is that when you fear God you fear nothing else, whereas if you do not fear God you fear everything else. – Oswald Chambers
Christ alone can bring lasting peace – peace with God – peace among men and nations – and peace within our hearts. – Billy Graham
Scripture Reading: Luke 2:13–14, Ephesians 2:14, 17, TNIV - Jonathan Imbir - 1st service
Joshua Tsai - 2nd service
Sermon Notes:
Today we continue the Advent season. In this year’s Advent sermon series, we are considering some of the most significant gifts that come our way because of the Baby born two
thousand years ago. Another way to think about it would be ask the question, What gifts
does Jesus’ presence place in my everyday life?

December 3 Grace: The Most Amazing Present
December 10 Peace: The Quiet Present
December 17 Love: The Unrivaled Present
December 24 Joy: An Advent Allegory
May the gratitude of our hearts deepen as we realize just how much we owe to that Baby
and to the old, old story of Christmas.
Now, a brief word of thanks to two people/groups. First, I thank my wife, Anita, and her
entire team for the exceptional Ladies’ Christmas Tea last Sabbath afternoon. This annual
appreciation event is especially for those women in our church who voluntarily give of their
time, talent and treasure to help make our church a place that more fully reflects the love of
Christ. Thank you for all the work that made it such a success!
Second, thank you to Ariel Quintana and the rest of those talented individuals who lead us
in worship all year long – and who will bless us with their gifts at this afternoon’s Christmas
Candlelight Concert. You are loved!
May God’s rich blessings be yours at this season of the year!
