These six weeks could change your life. We have all heard that phrase or some variation of it before. Whether it is an advertisement for the newest diet or a promo for a popular exercise program, we are told that if we just give it time, we can expect a transformation. What is incredibly attractive about all of these promises is that most of us want to change. We want a better body, a healthier constitution, a happier life, but how does transformation happen? It begins with training.
In cardiovascular exercise we aim for a target heart rate that helps us to transform our bodies. The exercises we perform are tools that help us achieve a heart rate where transformation can occur. What is true of our physical hearts is also true of our metaphorical hearts. We can perform spiritual exercises and build holy habits that will help us achieve a target heart state that will enable God to transform our lives. In this six sermons, we will be introducing holy habits that, if practiced regularly, will train us to hit that target heart state.
