Pastoral Welcome: The Roddy Family
Scripture Reading: Hebrews 12:7–11, TNIV
Children's Feature: Shawna Campbell
Sermon Notes:
I begin with an expression of gratitude to all who worked to make last weekend’s services so spiritually rich. This includes my colleagues on the pastoral staff, so many in the music department, our support staff, our maintenance crew, our prayer team members—and anyone else who worked to develop and carry out the services. I was richly blessed! I trust you were, as well. Today we begin a four-week series of sermons on parenting. We’ve all had parents, and many of us are or have been parents. We even have quite a few grandparents in our midst! I trust that the themes we will consider in the coming weeks will challenge, convict and/or support you on your journey. It would be a great time to invite family members and friends to join you in worship! Families are stressed out. Parents feel overwhelmed. Kids have more options than they’ve had at any other point in history. And in the midst of it all, we desire to raise healthy children who know and love Jesus and offer themselves in service to others. Is there a way for that to happen? Pray for an answer from God’s Spirit and God’s Word.
