Home is one of the most emotionally evocative words in our language. Warmth.
Sadness. Laughter. Tears. Yearning. Memories. We all came from one; we all have
one of some kind. We all yearn for a loving healthy one. For all those reasons and
more, we are spending our sermon time this camp meeting season at Home. We’ve
been moving from room to room, considering what different rooms might have to
teach us about living in healthy homes.

We’ve been in the kitchen—the heart of the home; and we’ve been in the garage—
the place where we have too much stuff that we’d rather not have to deal with; and
today we move out of the front door and onto the front porch. What lessons will the
front porch teach us?

homeGROWN also carries with it certain images: growing taller, coming of age,
larger responsibilities, launching, leaving, learning. In our Re:Live sermon time, we
have been considering similar themes and similar concepts, only we’ve been doing
so from a young adult perspective. Our Re:Live question today, then, has some
similarities to the question of the other two services—just with a young adult spin:
What front porch concepts can young adults who are leaving, launching and learning take with them?
