Pastoral Welcome: Dan Matthews, Dustin Aho
Scripture Reading: Ephesians 4:29–32, TNIV - Walls Family
Sermon Notes:
I suspect all of us have said things we regret. In fact, probably most of us have said things
this week that we regret! In so doing, we have discovered the impossibility of taking words
back. We may have lived for many years with the regret of something said by us or the pain
of something said to us.
What we don’t think of as often, however, are the things left unsaid. Yet, the truth is, there is
just as much (and maybe even more) sorrow created by the things we don’t say but should
as by the things we do say but shouldn’t. So let me ask you, what things are in your heart
that have been left unsaid but need to be expressed? To whom do you need to speak them?
What has kept you from stating them? What would it take to utter them this week? Maybe it’s
time to take off the mask that hides these sentiments.
In fact, maybe there’s something that the picturesque and romantic city of Venice can teach
us about such matters. So, on our bucket-list trip this camp meeting, it’s off to Venice we go!
Will you join us for the trip—and for all it entails?
