Part 4 - The Missing Piece - The Missing Piece: Intimacy - Randy Roberts
Pastoral Welcome - Doug and Susan Mace
Scripture - 1 Samuel 20:12-17, 41-42, TNIV
Sermon Notes:
How many friends do you have? I’m not asking how many Facebook friends you have or how many people you greet walking down the hallway at work or how many neighbors’ names you know. I’m asking how many friends you have—real friends—people who are genuinely interested in your life—people who care enough to respond in a moment of need—people who know all about your life—people for whom you care deeply and to whom you respond quickly. How many friends do you have?
If surveys and studies are to be believed, the number of real friends we have is slowly but surely declining. While the numbers of Facebook friends soar, the number of real friends declines. In an increasingly rootless society, people are increasingly lonely.
Today, the missing piece we consider is intimacy. I am not speaking of physical or sexual intimacy, but of relational intimacy. Does Scripture speak to this issue?
Join us. And invite your friends!
