Pastoral Welcome: Shawna Campbell, Patty Marruffo
Scripture Reading: Ecclesiastes 4:7–12, TNIV - Ault Family
Sermon Notes:
Friends help make life worth living! They encourage us, comfort us, delight us, challenge us,
change us, and walk through life with us. What would life be without friends?
Peter Marshall wrote a verse years ago that illustrates that friends can sometimes come from
unlikely places.
We have the nicest garbage man.
He empties out our garbage can.
He’s just as nice as he can be.
He always stops and talks to me.
My mother doesn’t like his smell,
But mother doesn’t know him well.
And Oswald Chambers underlined the importance of having friends who know and walk with
Jesus.
When you meet a man or woman who puts Jesus Christ first,
knit that one to your soul.
So let me ask: Are you nurturing your friendships? If your answer is yes, then you already
know how important that is. If, however, your answer is no, then I hope you will pay close
attention today as we visit merry ol’ England. You just might discover something across the
pond that will change your life.
In praise of friendship!
