Sermon Notes:
I am hoping that many of you have taken up the challenge to read your Bible in
2013. If you have, let me encourage you in your progress. If you haven’t, it’s not too
late to begin! This year, I am reading the Andrews Study Bible for the first time. It
uses the New King James Version, a version I have not read before. I am already
experiencing God’s blessings as I read both the text of the Bible and the study Bible
helps!
One of the fascinating aspects of Scripture is how each reading (and re-reading!)
brings forth new insights. Further, each time we read the Bible, passages that we
had not noticed before jump out at us! Such is true with the passage that provides
the basis for today’s sermon. I had read this section of Scripture many times before
I really saw this passage. Yet, once I had seen it, every time I thought about the act
of giving, this passage immediately came to mind! I would go so far as to say that,
other than passages that describe God’s gift of Jesus, this passage is the most
stunning passage in the Bible about giving!
Do you want to know what passage it is and what it says? Join us for this sermon!
God’s best to you.
