Sermon Notes:
Today we begin a new sermon series entitled One Another. Captured in those two words are so many of the actions and relational realities that the New Testament calls the church of Jesus Christ to undertake.
Just consider some of the things Paul says we are to do for and with one another:
- Honor one another above yourselves (Romans 12:10)
- Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling (1 Peter 4:9)
- Serve one another humbly in love (Galatians 5:13)
- Encourage one another (2 Corinthians 13:11)
- Be compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you (Ephesians 4:32)
- Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ (Ephesians 5:21)
- And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24–25)
- Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom. (Colossians 3:16)
- But encourage one another daily (Hebrews 3:13)
- Agree with one another (1 Corinthians 1:10)
- Live in harmony with one another (Romans 12:16)
- Don’t grumble against one another (James 5:9)
- Bear one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2)
- Love one another (John 13:35)
And one more!
Greet one another with a holy kiss (1 Corinthians 16:20)
Join me as we consider four of these truly important realities. Let’s open ourselves to biblical community!
