Pastoral Welcome: Doug Mace
Scripture Reading: Psalm 22:22-28, TNIV read by Dianne Connelly & Alan Connelly
Sermon Notes:
King David was a renaissance man. Had he been alive in modern times and received a school yearbook, he most likely would have found a caption below his photo stating, Most Talented. He could play the harp; he was a songwriter; he was a sling sharpshooter; he was a shepherd; he was a lion and bear hunter; he was a poet; he was a king. But among many other characteristics that we could continue to ascribe, did you know that David was also a prophet? As we explore Psalm 22 today, we will clearly see two things: First, God inspired David to write a special song—a song with graphic visions of a very special moment in the future. And secondly, God inspired David with a psalm of allegiance. This psalm would help all mankind see the lengths God is willing to go to prove that He will never leave us, nor forsake us.
