Sermon Notes:
We are delighted that you have joined us as we begin a sermon series in the book of Micah – the prophet whose words serve as a refuge in distress and whose voice and vision sustained a nation’s faith. Our series will force us to exchange the comfort and safety of the mansions of the mind for the slums of existence.
This morning, we come together to ask this question: What manner of person is a prophet – staunch pessimist or hopeless optimist, forerunner of judgement or herald of hope? What is indubitable is that Micah’s message is intended to af ict the comfortable and comfort the af icted – the prophetic call to live just and merciful lives necessitates a response.
May God grant us wisdom
