INTRODUCTION TO THE SERMON
Today we welcome all our guests who have come to attend the annual Alumni Postgraduate Convention. We’re glad you’re here and that you’ve chosen to worship with us today.
Before writing some words about today’s psalm, let me first invite you to circle Friday evening, March 12, on your calendar. At 7:30 that evening, in our church’s sanctuary, we will be showing the documentary, “The Adventists.” Filmmaker Martin Doblmeier produced it. Having had the opportunity to see a number of earlier films made by Doblmeier, I am confident that this one will not disappoint.
Today’s psalm, Psalm 36, contains some of the most majestic words about the love of God ever written. They are written, however, against the backdrop of human evil. The decided contrast between the loving kindness of God and the evil we see in so many human beings causes God’s goodness to stand out all the more clearly.
I hope that by the end of our study, you will be refreshed and encouraged again by the love of God that is without compare.
God’s very best to you.
Randy Roberts
Senior Pastor
