Sermon Notes:
Even those who are not Apple fans would have to admit that Apple is in a league all its own. To deny Apple’s impact, not just on this country but on the world, would be to invite the charge of being blind to reality. Everywhere we go, Apple products abound. Apple’s contribution to the world of business and entertainment may be exceeded only by its contributions to social media.
Just consider that the last decade-and-a-half have been dominated by the dra- matic development of social media. Think back to what life was like in 2000. Cell phones, while certainly a part of life, were light years from where they are today. iPods and iPads were only a figment of a science-fiction-like future. Twitter was something birds did. And Instagram? What in the world could that be?!
And undeniably present through it all has been this company called Apple. Apple’s innovation and forward thinking have reshaped so much of the way we experience the world.
So what can the church learn from Apple? Can it learn anything? It is to such thoughts that we turn our minds today.
