Sermon Notes: Thanksgiving! It is hard to believe it’s just a few days away! Am I the only one asking, Where did 2016 go?! It’s almost over! And yet, the time—as one wag put it—when one species ceases to gobble and another begins, is upon us! As we enter this season when we focus on the many reasons we have for gratitude, I mention to you three things. First, I urge you to participate today with our UReach program in our Thanksgiving basket distribution. Instructions will be given in today’s service regarding how to participate. Join us! Second, express your thanks to God for all of the magnificent blessings of life which we enjoy! After all, maybe James said it best: “Every good and every perfect gift comes to us from the Father of lights.” (see James 1:17). So say thank you to God! And don’t stop there—express your gratitude and appreciation to the people whom God has placed in your life for the blessings they bring to you. And third, join us today as we consider the second part of Habakkuk, one of the ancient prophets of Israel. Last week we listened in amazement at the back-and-forth between Habakkuk and God over the question of Why? This week, we listen to an elaboration of God’s explanation to Habakkuk. What will He say? What might it mean for us today? And how will it guide us in how we are to live our lives? Join us as we continue our exploration of Habakkuk. Randy Roberts, senior pastor
