Today is our third week in the series, True North, a series in which we are considering different aspects of character. Our tagline question is this: When character goes south, which way is (true) north? Thus far, we’ve considered duty and willpower as aspects of true character. Thank you to Pastor Roy Ice for his fine sermon last week.

This week we turn our focus to honor. The Bible has much to say about honor. It calls on us to honor our fathers and our mothers (see the the fifth of the Ten Commandments). It tells us that we are to honor each other above ourselves. It calls on us to honor our leaders—with Peter even calling (if you can imagine this) for believers to honor the Roman emperor! The
Bible even calls on us to live honorablyClearly, then, understanding and practicing honor is vital in the life of the Christian. But what exactly is honor, and how do we live it out in our everyday lives? To such matters we turn our minds today
