Sermon: "Live Different" - Dustin Aho

Baptism: Jacob Mateo Gonzalez - Dan Matthews

Pastoral Welcome: Genevieve Koh Isidro

Children’s Feature: Betsy Jabola

Meditation:

You are not here merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world, and you impoverish yourself if you forget the errand. -- Woodrow T. Wilson

The one indispensable requirement for producing godly, mature Christians is godly, mature Christians. -- Kevin DeYoung

No one can sum up all God is able to accomplish through one solitary life, wholly yielded, adjusted, and obedient to Him. -- D. L. Moody

...Christ did not appoint professors, but followers. If Christianity ... is not reduplicated in the life of the person expounding it, then he does not expound Christianity, for Christianity is a message about living and can only be expounded by being realized in men's lives. -- Soren Kierkegaard

Scripture Reading: Matthew 28:18–20, TNIV - David Hutabarat

Sermon Notes:

UReach is the outreach ministry of the Loma Linda University church. It is the goal
of UReach to take the mission and values of LLUC and make them tangible to our
surrounding community. At LLUC the primary mission, the reason for our existence,
is to follow Christ’s great commission as outlined in Matthew 28:18–20.

“Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been
given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey
everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end
of the age.’”

This week we will explore our mission statement, “Growing Disciples,” specifically
as it relates to outreach, by asking two simple questions. First, what does it mean to
be a disciple of Jesus? And second, how do we go about “growing disciples?” We
hope you will join us as we discuss our call to “Grow Disciples.”
