What were we made for? To know God.
What aim should we have in life? To know God.
What is the eternal life that Jesus gives? To know God.
What is the best thing in life? To know God.
What in humans gives God most pleasure? Knowledge of himself. – J. I. Packer
Once you become aware that the main business that you are here for is to know God, most of life’s problems fall into place of their own accord. – J. I. Packer
Scripture Reading: John 17:1–3, TNIV - Ken and Robyn Jutzy
Sermon Notes:
If you really want to know a person – know who they are, know what’s important to them, know where their priorities are – just listen to their prayers. What
they pray about, how they pray, will tell you much about them. The same can
be said of Jesus. That being the case, we are fortunate to have a window into
his soul in John 17. It is the longest prayer of Jesus on record. From it, we can
learn much about our Lord.
We recently completed a three-part sermon series entitled, disciple, based on
John 15. Today we begin another three-part series entitled, Teacher, based on
Jesus’ prayer in John 17. I hope you are able to join us each week.

One word about the Wednesday evening series, “What Has Helped Me in My
Bible Study and Prayer Life.” We had hoped to offer a second (identical) session on Sabbath afternoons this fall. Due to schedule conflicts, we have moved
it (in an expanded format) to Winter Wednesdays. Plan now to join us then!
God bless you.
